Project Details
Construction and operation of a tyre recycling facility at Erskine Park, Sydney, NSW that processes waste tyres destined for landfill into tyre derived products such as crumbed rubber. These products are used as a raw material to produce other construction materials such as asphalt, creating a circular economy.
Element Engagement
Element lead the regionally significant and integrated development application, which was submitted to Penrith City Council, prior to approval by the Sydney Western City Planning Panel. Element’s engagement included:
- Project management of the development application including all technical studies
- Preparing the Statement of Environmental Effects
- Preparing the application for an environment protection licence to the NSW Environment Protection Authority
- Government agency and community consultation
Project Achievements
Through frequent and meaningful engagement with key government stakeholders and Council there were no surprises during the development application process. Element prepared comprehensive and quality documentation which was accepted first time by Council facilitating the smooth assessment and determination of the project. Element secured a development consent for Tyrecycle, on time and within budget.
