Project Details
The 30ha Riverwood Estate State Significant Precinct is close to Riverwood Town Centre and comprises social housing, private dwellings and council-owned land. The Minister for Planning declared Riverwood a State Significant Precinct on 5 March 2021, meaning the rezoning will be led by the NSW Government.
Element Engagement
NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) prepared a rezoning proposal to amend the planning controls for the site with the aim to create a vibrant and connected community with a mix of modern social and private housing, shops, community facilities, parks and cycleways.
Element was engaged by the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) from March 2022 to November 2022, to provide day to day strategic planning support on the delivery of the Riverwood Estate State Significant Precinct.
Project Achievements
Element worked closely with DPE to deliver each task and document to a high quality, on time and to budget. Drawing on extensive strategic planning and Government experience Element was able to deliver a detailed strategic assessment and recommendations for the proposed rezoning. Given the complex nature of the proposal and the involvement of a range of State agencies, Element employed a flexible working approach to successfully accommodate changes to the project program.
